Amathunzi is an expansive 3000ha private game reserve, and for nature lovers, it is a treasure trove, comprising fynbos, renosterveld and succulent Karoo biomes.
The Amathunzi reserve can be explored on foot, or the lodge has a number of mountain bikes which can also be used to explore some of the trails. An evening game drive in the open-topped Land Cruiser is a highlight..

Kudu, gemsbok, black wildebeest, eland, red hartebeest, bontebok, springbok and zebra roam the reserve. Guests staying at the Manor house and lodge are enthralled when some of the animals come to the lodge looking for the sweeter grass.
Amathunzi has hosted a number of successful conferences. They are also a popular wedding venue and go out of their way to ensure your special day is printed as an awesome experience forever.
Accommodation is for a maximum of 24 guests , offering the privacy and peace that is increasingly difficult to find. Their guests can choose from a choice of three private and luxurious accommodation options: the lakeside lodge sleeps 10; the elegant Manor House, sleeps 12, and they have the rustic one-bedroom cottage.

This beautiful 4-star game lodge is set in the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve. The old farmhouse was converted into a place that is warm, welcoming and relaxing.
They offer six en-suite rooms; four of which have private verandahs which overlook the garden and waterhole. All of the rooms are part of the main lodge, and are tastefully furnished with percale bed linen.
The rooms have air-conditoners, fans, hairdriers, coffee and tea facilties and separate baths and showers as well as some lovely toiletries.
Their boma and bar provide relaxing places where meals and drinks can be enjoyed. The game drives are the big draw because for some guests, its the first time they have come so close to wild animals and seen some of their typical behaviour patterns.
When you aren’t revelling in all the bush has to offer, there are other delights. For some its the delicious bushveld cuisine, while others love the lazy hours around the pool. Whatever it is, The Bush House doesn’t disappoint.
